Ultrasound Use in the Tonawanda Chiropractic Treatment Plan

As a therapeutic modality, ultrasound is a type of heat therapy for soft tissue injuries to minimize swelling and pain, reduce muscle spasms, and increase the range of motion. Making high frequency sound waves, ultrasound penetrates deep into an injured area, creating heat that draws blood into the area in order to enhance the healing process.

Ultrasound is administered gently with a handheld soundhead, that uses strokes or circles over the affected area. An ultrasound gel may be administered during the ultrasound therapy session. The role of an ultrasound is to expedite your healing time and alleviate your pain.

Research Studies
