Tonawanda chiropractic spinal manipulation care is relieving and cost reducing.

SPINAL MANIPULATION IS EFFECTIVE AND COST REDUCING FOR SPINE CARE

Chiropractic Spine Sports And Rehabilitation welcomes all spine pain patients! Spine pain is disconcerting for its sufferers. Tonawanda chiropractic spinal manipulation helps. Though low back pain is a major cause of disability around the world, its sufferers who experience persistent or recurrent bouts of low back pain report that chiropractic maintenance care is worthwhile as it is patient-centered care. (1) Neck pain sufferers, too, report benefit with chiropractic. Neck pain patients who undergo spinal manipulation – 90% of which is delivered by chiropractors in the US – were found to be 2.38 times less likely to need escalated and more expensive care like imaging, injection, emergency room or surgery (just 26%) than patients who were treated with other type of care (46%). (2) A new study of Medicare patient claims reveals that patients who had less access to chiropractic care had a rise in visits (32.3 a year) to primary care physicians for spine pain and an uptick in spine surgeries (5.5 a year) costing an extra $114,967 per 1000 Medicare beneficiaries and $391 million nationally. (3) Your Tonawanda chiropractor is well-skilled in performing spinal manipulation.  Spinal manipulation is and has been recommended as first-line treatment for low back pain. Medicare claims’ reviews point out that chiropractors are the majority of healthcare providers for spinal manipulation and that the overall supply of spinal manipulation providers is dropping. (4) Don’t worry! Your hometown, Tonawanda chiropractor does not intend to stop providing pain-relieving spinal manipulation, especially the gentle, research-supported Cox® Technic style of spinal manipulation.

Listen to this PODCAST with Dr. Kurt Olding on The Back Doctors Podcast with Dr. Michael Johnson as he discusses the place of spinal manipulation in the Cox® Technic System of Spinal Pain Management for the relief of spinal stenosis, a common spine pain condition in the over-65 age group.

Chiropractic Spine Sports And Rehabilitation shares new research on the benefit of adequate B vitamin levels.

Tonawanda CHIROPRACTIC TIP OF THE MONTH:

Beneficial B Vitamins

B vitamins are beneficial. B12 deficiency is commonly linked with dementia in patients 65 years old and over. It’s also been found in younger people who have normal B12 levels but their methylmalonic acid (MMA) level is high. Testing the MMA level may be a useful test in patients with symptoms that seem unconnected as in one patient with neuropathy, depression and stomach issues who was found to have a high MMA. (5) Biotin (B7) supplementation is demonstrating potential in the treatment of neuropathic pain and could lessen the necessary doses of analgesic drugs. (6) Riboflavin (B2) in foods and via supplements is known for its antioxidant, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory effects among others. A recent study reported that B2 offers anti-itch properties. (7) Are your B levels good? Let’s talk at your next visit!
